I want to talk to you about a truth that will make your life become more of what God intended it to be, and that is: You are a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven and a member of the household of God!
Many of us have become so ‘earthly minded’ since the fall of man that we are almost unable to grasp what this truth means for us. Our mind has become so limited by earthly thinking that we hardly even become excited about this truth. And this really is a setback for the children of God. Your life will become so much richer once you realize that you can live and function here on earth in a dimension that is completely different to that of the world you live in.
What does it mean to be a citizen of Heaven? We often say: ‘I am only human’, and use this statement as an excuse not to partake of the excellence to which God has called us. You are created in God’s image and likeness. You live in this world but you are a citizen of Heaven. This means that all the things that belong to the Kingdom of Heaven actually also belong to you! Everything you will ever need here on earth, you already have in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Begin meditating on this truth: I am a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven. I am living here on this earth so that I can bring Heaven to the earth. What do people around you need? As a citizen of Heaven you are able to provide in their need, because Heaven lacks nothing at all. Heaven knows no sickness, no financial burden, no lying, no discomfort. Heaven is a place of peace, joy, prosperity, health, abundant provision, goodness and LIFE itself, and YOU are part of this Heavenly Kingdom. You are a citizen of Heaven!!
It will serve us te realize that though we are called to be on this earth temporarily, we are able to take everything that’s available in the Kingdom and reproduce it here on earth to serve God and people. Our identity is to be a blessing to those around us, to bring a smile to God’s face, because we are using the things belonging to our Heavenly home to be a blessing to others.
I want to encourage you to start thinking and meditating on what it means to be a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven and being part of God’s Household. THAT is your identity in God. Everything that belongs to God belongs to you.
Think about a child in an earthly home. He can go and take whatever he wants out of the refrigerator, right? He can just go and sleep in his bed when he’s tired right? When dinner is served he can just sit and eat, right? He doesn’t need to ask for permission. Why? Because it’s all his, because he is part of that household.
Now just imagine that you are part of God’s household and God has intended for everything in that household to be yours for the taking. Too few believers are actually making use of everything that is available to them from the Kingdom of Heaven. Please begin looking into this Kingdom today. What do you need in order to be a blessing to others? What do you need in your own personal life? Know and realize that as a Kingdom citizen these things have been made freely available to you, because of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. He has obtained it all for you! Do not leave these things just laying there in the Heavenly. Take hold of what Christ has died to give you. You are a child, a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven and you are a member of God’s Household. Please take time to meditate on this truth throughout the week!
