Today I want to talk to you about our identity in God. Identity is something that we are not aware of enough. We do not realize enough that we need to know who we are to be able to live a victorious life here on earth. Many people allow situations to affect their future an their present, but God sent His son to die for us at the cross because sin was keeping us from becoming who God created us to be. We were kept from seeing our true identity in life. Once we discover our true identity and begin to live and walk in it, our life will never be the same!!
What does it mean that God created man in His image and likeness? Let’s stop and think about this. God created everything by His spoken Word, and He created us by the spoken Word, also telling us that we were created in His image and likeness. This means that the same way our Creator created all things by the spoken word, you also have the ability to create for yourself and speak into existance the things that you want to see happen in your life. And you do this by basing your word on the promises that God has already given you in His word.
We often use our words negatively. And our words are often reproductions of negative words we have heard from others. These are words that destroy rather than bring us into the identity that God has given us. How can you create something new that is contrary to that which people have spoken into your life? You must learn to say what God says about you: He says you have an amazing future and that you have been created for succes. Use what God has given you and begin to create the future with your spoken word. Realize that you have the ability to make your life happen the way you want it to, based on promises from Gods word.
So, take one negative thing that you have been saying to yourself and change it. Begin speaking and saying what God says about you. Listen to your words and realize that a person created in Gods image and likeness should not and must not speak words of death and destruction about themselves. The image and likeness of God creates great things!! Begin today to create what you want to see happen in your life by the spoken word!
