Is Christ Worrying in Heaven?

Many of us tend to worry about life. In doing so we show that we trust our circumstances and the negative words that we ourselves or others have bombarded us with more than we are trusting the promises of God. In this world we are living in today, there are a million things we can continually worry about, like: How will I get to where I want to go? How will things turn out with my finances? How will my children make it in school?

If you find yourself continually worrying, be honest and admit to yourself that you are not actually trusting God at His word. You are allowing your circumstances and the things you are going through to weigh more heavily in your life than what God says. But the words that God has spoken will NEVER change and will forever be true! When we begin to trust this fact, we will see worrying begin to diminish and disappear from our life because we trust God more than we trust our circumstances.

Today I want to focus on a verse in 1John where it says that: “As Christ is in heaven, so are we in this world.” This verse will help you see things in perspective. Ask yourself: “How is Jesus Christ in heaven?” He is seated at the right hand of the Father, He has accomplished everything for us through His death, burial and resurrection, He has trampled satan under foot, and He has come out victorious. We can now accept everything Christ has accomplished for us as if we have done it ourselves and as if we have gone to battle and won it ourselves. Why? Because after He accomplished it all, He turned around and gave everything to us without asking us to put forth any effort on our part, except the effort of believing in Him.

Notice that the Word does not say: So shall we be. It says so ARE we in this world. So something very practical that I have learned to do is to ask myself: “Jesus, are you worrying now in heaven?” And the answer will always be: “No”. So if He is not and He says that I am as He is is heaven, I should not be either, because He has already accomplished everything on the cross. Begin to see yourself in light of God’s word and say, “Lord, if you are not worrying about my children, my finances, my life…, then neither will I, because as You are in heaven so am I in this world!

Choose to see what Chirst is doing in heaven. He is knowing that God is in control, that all He needs to do is ask the Father, He is knowing that God has got His back. And this is how God wants us to see ourselves in the finished work of Christ. Give your situation to Him and say: “I will not worry in this world. I choose to trust You”. This is the way that you will begin to see your life transform and become the Kingdom life that God intended for you. Because He has already made sure that everything was accomplished for us!

It is going to take making a choice on our part. Are we willing to choose life, relaxation, the goodness of God, rather that all the things that cause us to worry? We have a responsibility in this. God has already given you all things you will ever need for this life and for Godliness. The choice is now yours. See yourself as God sees you, see Christ as He is in Heaven and align yourself with that! Remember always that you are, as Christ is in Heaven!
