It is a myth that God sends trials to test you. It is a lie that God sends trials as a way to get you to do better or learn some deep life lesson. These are lies that get many believers into trouble in their relationship with God. When you read the New Testament, which is the covenant you fall under as a believer, you see that God does not and cannot send evil to test you, because ‘everything good comes from God’. He is the very one who is there to help you through your hardships. If you believe that a good God will send bad things your way to test you or teach you a lesson you will not be able to fully trust Him, because: how could you judge his dependability if the one who is supposed to help you is also the one sending the bad/evil upon you? How can you know that He is really there for you?
What we do need to realize is that we as believers are still living in a world governed by evil, greed, sickness, selfishness and pain… And sometimes these evil things touch us and get to us. Therefore we need to understand that everything that is not right for us or brings us pain and suffering is not from the Kingdom of Heaven, while God is the One who wants to help us and bring us through our hardships in a positive way. It is God who is able to use the bad that happens to us and turn it around for good. So, everything evil we go through, know that He is not the One sending it. Reject the thought that evil comes from God and go through your trials and hardships trusting God and understanding that the promises He has given to bring us through our hard times, are all true. Apply these promises in your life, stand by them and allow God to help you and prove Himself to be your Refuge, your Helper and the One who is always there no matter what you go through, because God is a good God and that that will never, ever change!
