Today we will talk about how to use your faith to counter the act of worrying in your life. We worry about so many things and forget to look to God. So, how does worrying change when we put our faith in God’s promises and what God says we are supposed to be doing? We first need to know and realize the true meaning of ‘faith’. This word means that we are fully convinced and fully persuaded that what God says in His word is actually true and that His promises are ’yes’ and ‘amen’ for us no matter what we are going through or what is going on around us. They are true for us, right at this moment!
So what are some of the truths and promises that God gives us to counter worrying in our life? God says that His plans for us are only good and that He will make us prosper and have a good future in Him. Therefore, do you realize that when you choose to worry you are actually disobeying God? Because you are choosing to believe your circumstances rather than believe what He says is true. Also, Jesus Himself said: ‘Do not worry’. If we still choose to worry we are telling Him that we do not believe we can be worry-free in spite of what He is saying to us. Please carefully read Luke 12:22-33 where Jesus talks about worrying.
Rather than worrying, have a firm, unshakeable belief in what God says. He tells you that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to you and that in it you can find all His riches, all His provision, all His health, all His goodness… You will find that everything is in the Kingdom and has been gladly given to you, as believer in Christ. Be aware that God has already given these to you and that the way to see them come into your life is: by faith! So change your worrying and turn it into believing in God’s promises. See yourself living worry-free. That thing that you are worrying about, see it in light of the Kingdom of Heaven. What does the Kingdom say about that circumstance? Choose to believe THAT!
See yourself completely taken care of by your Father in Heaven who knows everything you will ever need. How does it feel to trust and to know that it is all already taken care of in Him? Begin putting your faith in Him and, you will see the promises of the Word come to pass in your life.
